Hi, and Welcome to my small effort to chronicle my own yard and garden experiences.  Gardening is peaceful and relaxing. Spending time in the garden helps me escape my worries and gives me the feeling of getting back to something basic and important.

I make no claim to knowing much except about gardening except what I have tried and experienced and the good advice of others with more experience.  This website is more about my own experiences in my yard and garden at my home.

Working quickly in trying to revamp and update this website, I have added a slideshow taken of the yard and garden efforts as of June 2008, but it does not begin to tell the story of the work we have put into the yard and garden since we bought the old place and moved in Nov 2002.

Over time, I will find and upload some of the photos that have been lost on this website (red x's) and recover the photos to text sequencing.

By summer's end 2008, the yard is looking quite differently.  This year we added six raised container bed vegetable garden areas.  In my fight to harvest the vegetables before the slugs ate them, my husband came up with what I think is a clever 'slug gutter' method to try to combat the slugs.  When I say combat, I mean it, because in this wet and rainy Pacific Northwest, slugs are plentiful and abound everywhere.
