Don't Grieve For Me
Don't grieve for me, for now Im free
I'm following the path God laid for me,
I took His hand when I heard Him call
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found that place at the break of day.
If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Oh yes, these things, I too, will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sushine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don't lenghten it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.
Dad,
You left us all way too soon, but you lived a very full life. Serving your country, finding your nitch in life as a longshoreman
for 40 years. What an accomplishment. You were so lucky to find the love of your life. You had 25 wonderful years with Joy.
She is an amazing woman, and I am very proud to call her mom. You were a wonderful father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
You were also such a dear and wonderful friend to so many. You will be missed terribly. I love you dad. Visit me in my dreams......
